Mark P. Mills, Board Member
Mark P. Mills, a co-founding partner in Digital Power Capital, is Chief Technology Officer and Chairman of the Board of ICx Technologies. An avid writer, who has co-authored the book The Bottomless Well with colleague Peter Huber, Mark has been published in various popular publications, including Forbes, Wall Street Journal and the New York Times Magazine, as well as numerous professional publications. He has testified before and briefed many state public service commissions, legislative groups, state legislators, and the U.S. Congress.
Before co-founding Digital Power Capital, Mark operated his own consultancy, and served as a staff consultant to The White House Science Office (under President Reagan), a number of the Federal Research Laboratories, the (former) Congressional Office of Technology Assessment, and the U.S. Department of Energy. Mark holds a degree in physics from Queen’s University, Canada, and is a member of numerous professional societies including the American Physical Society and Institute of Electric and Electronic Engineers.
Mark Ascolese, Board Member
Mark Ascolese brings more than 30 years of executive-level operations,
marketing, and sales management experience to EDSA, much of it
in the electrical and electronics field. Throughout his career,
he has held top-level posts with industry leaders such as General
Electric, Eaton, Powerware, and others.
Mark is recognized as a leading figure in the electrical power industry, having co-founded the Washington D.C.-based Critical Power Coalition, and serving on numerous industry and corporate boards. He is a graduate of General Electric’s Crotonville Executive Management Training program, and Duke University's Fuqua School of Executive Education.
Brig. Gen. John Iffland, USAF (Retired), Advisor
Gen. Iffland brings superb credentials to EDSA, having served
as a decorated combat veteran -- in Vietnam and as Commander of
the Coalition Air Wing for Operation Iraqi Freedom -- as well
as a computer industry executive with Unisys. He is a leading
expert on military operational preparedness, as well as air- and
ground-based command, control, and communications systems; hence,
he literally has "front line" knowledge of the importance of electrical
systems integrity.
Gen. Iffland is a graduate of the USAF's prestigious Air War College; he also received his MA in Management from Central Michigan University, as well as his BS in Finite Mathematics from the California State University of Long Beach.
Hans Kobler, Advisor
Hans Kobler is a founding member of Digital Power Capital LLC. Previously, Mr. Kobler headed GE’s Power Technology Investment Group, a joint effort by GE Equity and GE Structured Finance. In this role, he advised GE Power Systems, GE Industrial Systems, GE Global Research and GE Global Exchange Services on their power technology related minority investments.
Before that, Hans was Chief Quality Officer heading the strategic
investment initiative of GE Equity and oversaw the development
of advanced underwriting methodologies, as well as strategic investment
processes leveraging GE operating units to achieve higher returns
in equity investments. Mr. Kobler was also a consultant with Bain
& Company in their Boston, Munich and Sydney offices, where
he was a member of the buyout practice group. He holds his MA
in Aerospace Engineering from the Technical University of Munich,
a MBA from the University of Texas at Austin, and attended INSEAD’s
MBA (SS) program. |
